Samantha and John, the newlyweds, walked towards us as they smiled at each other. Their smiles are the I-can’t-believe-we-just-got-married smiles and are contagious.
Then, we hear the quiet rhythmic sound of a downpour approaching. Fast.
Ryan whips out the umbrellas for Samantha and John to huddle under as we rush towards the overhang by the venue to get out of the pouring rain. Our portrait time is cut short, but it’s not a tragedy.
16 minutes. 16 minutes was our total time for both bridal party and bride and groom portraits.
They rocked it out.
Even as they ran through the rain, they were so joyful and never once had a negative thing to say.
Thunderstorms and recent covid regulations threatened to rain down on their wedding day. Despite these circumstances that they could not control, Sam and John truly made it the best day. They had their closest family and friends celebrating with them outside, under a tent, in the rain.
They had their first dance in what could qualify as a shallow puddle on the pavement, and didn’t mind one bit.
Samantha and John,
Congratulations and welcome to married life! We’d like to give you a shout out for handling so many changes, chaos, and thunderstorms with grace and a smile. Every single aspect of your wedding day was so beautiful. However, what will stay with us forever are your heartfelt words to your beloved friends and family that reflected what marriage truly is and how your marriage is meant to point one another, and others, towards the Lord. We cannot wait to see what is in store for you both!
Much love,
Sarah & Ryan
