Becca & Andrew tied the knot on a beautiful January day in Ann Arbor. Before the ceremony, the girls gathered at Becca’s parents house for hair and makeup. You could feel the joy and excited energy from the moment you stepped foot in the house. As we arrived to the church to photograph Andrew and his groomsmen, the snow started falling gently outside. Becca and her mom prayed together in a quiet, tender moment before the first look with Tony, Becca’s dad. He was so, so excited and overwhelmed to see his beautiful daughter. They were married in a joyful, Catholic Mass complete with a choir from the neighboring Catholic high school, a cellist, violinist, and a trumpet player! The bridal party stopped for a cup of coffee on their way to the reception, and then we took bridal party portraits in the bitter cold outside of Fox Hills in Plymouth, MI.
Their reception details included hand-made snow globes, vintage postcards, a donut wall made by the groom himself, champagne glasses from the bride’s parents’ wedding, Jameson Irish whiskey, and glittery gold pine-cones. The guests were surprised by the replacement of several large vintage photographs in the hall with black and white portraits that we had recreated! Outside, Becca & Andrew’s portraits were taken in less than 10 minutes. We are so thrilled with the variety of their portraits! Becca wore a restored mink coat that belonged to Andrew’s great grandmother. The heirloom pearls that she wore were given to her mother by her father the day before their own wedding. We also brought the bridal party inside to the foyer of Fox Hills for another style of bridal party portraits. Becca and Andrew’s family and friends celebrated the happy couple as they danced late into the evening. If you know the Zahm family at all, you know they all love to dance! The father daughter dance was a three song mashup complete with props! The happy couple snuck away just before the end of the party and started their honeymoon the next day by heading off to Ireland! Congratulations Becca and Andrew!
